Phoenix Park

Phoenix Park is a 707 hectares park in the middle of the Dublin city, next to the river Liffey. It container the following tourist attractions among others: Dublin Zoo: the most popular attraction in the city. The Residence of the President od Ireland: it is the official residence of the Prime Minister (Áras an Uachtaráin in Gaelic) and it was built in 1754. Papal Cross: to commemorate the visit of Pope John Paul II on 29th September 1979. The Wellington Monument: a 62 metres high obelisk to commemorate the victories of the Duke of Wellington. Deerfield Residence: where the ambassador from the United States in the Republic of Ireland lives
